9 IAS and 8 HAS officers transferred in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla: In a major move aimed at restructuring the administrative set up, the newly elected government in Himachal Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has carried out a reshuffle, resulting in the transfer and posting of nine Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and eight Himachal Administrative Services (HAS) officers.

The nine IAS officers who have been transferred and posted include Manasi Sahay Thakur (2009 batch) as the Labour Commissioner cum Director Employment, Rohan Chand Thakur (2009 batch) as the Managing Director of HP Roadways Transport Corporation (HRTC), and Sandeep Kumar (2010 batch) as the Special Secretary of Technical Education.

Among the notable transfers, Pankaj Rai (2014 batch), who held the position of Special Secretary Education, has been relieved from the additional role of Special Secretary Planning. Shubh Karan Singh, a 2015 batch IAS officer, previously entrusted with additional charge as CEO of HIMURJA, has now been appointed as its CEO.

Furthermore, Abhishek Verma (2018 batch) has been designated as the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Shimla, following his previous role as the Managing Director of General Industries Corporation.

In addition to the IAS officers, eight HAS officers were also transferred as part of the administrative reshuffle. Ashish Kumar Kohli (2006 batch), who previously served as the Commissioner of Shimla Municipal Corporation, has been reassigned as the Secretary of State Transport cum Additional Commissioner Transport, replacing Hemis Negi. Negi, in turn, has been appointed as the Managing Director of HP State Agriculture Marketing Board.

The government's official statement highlighted the transfer of other prominent HAS officers, including Bhupender Singh, who has assumed the position of Commissioner of Shimla Municipal Corporation, and Nishant Thakur, among others.

This strategic administrative reshuffle reflects the government's commitment to ensuring effective governance, promoting efficiency, and maximizing the potential of its administrative machinery. The reshuffling of responsibilities is expected to bring fresh perspectives, invigorate departments, and enhance overall administrative performance in Himachal Pradesh.
