Hussan Lal, 1995 batch IAS officer is new PS to Punjab Chief Minister

Chandigarh: Senior IAS officer Hussan Lal, 1995 batch, has been appointed Principal Secretary to Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, while 200 batch IAS officer Rahul Tiwari has been posted as Special Principal Secretary to the CM.

Tiwari has worked with Channi when he was Technical Education and Employment Generation Minister. Tiwari replaces Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, while Hussan Lal, who was Principal Secretary, Investment Promotion, Industries and Commerce and Information Technology, replaces Tejveer Singh.

Kamal Kishor Yadav, Commissioner-cum-Director, Information and Public Relations (I&PR), has been posted as Secretary, I&PR, and Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. Showkat Ahmad Parray is the new Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.

According to an official notification issued hours after Channi took over Punjab Chief Minister, Mankanwal Singh Chahal has been appointed Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. Yadav and Parray are IAS officers of 2007 and 2013 batches, respectively. Chahal is a 2016 batch PCS officer.

Tejveer Singh has been posted as Principal Secretary, Investment Promotion, Industries and Commerce, Information Technology. Gurkirat Kirpal Singh is new Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. Dilip Kumar has been appointed Principal Secretary, Science, Technology and Environment, while Mohammad Tayyab has also been given the additional charge of CEO, Punjab Wakf Board.

Sumeet Jarangal has appointed new Director, Information and Public Relations, while Harpreet Singh Sudan has been given the additional charge of Mission Director, Punjab Skill Development Mission. Isha, a 2009 batch IAS officer, currently posted as Director General, School Education and Secretary, Punjab School Education Board, will take over the charge of Mohali Deputy Commissioner from Girish Dayalan.
