NHAI set to open three new highways and four flyovers along Jaipur-Ajmer route

Jaipur: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is poised to introduce three new highways by the end of April, enhancing travel convenience for commuters between Jaipur and Ajmer.
Moreover, four flyovers along the Jaipur-Kishangarh stretch of the Ajmer Expressway, also known as National Highway 8, are scheduled to be operational by June this year.
Ajay Arya, NHAI’s project director, revealed, “The construction of three flyovers at Bandersindhri, Mahla, and Sawarda crossings is in its final stages. We anticipate their inauguration by the end of this month.” Progress on five additional flyovers at Bagru, Narsinghpura, Gadota, Mokahpura, and Padasoli is also advancing swiftly, with completion expected within the next two months.
Arya further stated, “We are working diligently to complete the Ajmer-bound flank of the Kamla Nehru Nagar crossing flyover. It is likely that these five flyovers will be operational between late June and mid-July.” NHAI officials emphasize that once all nine flyovers are operational, travel time between Ajmer and Jaipur will be significantly reduced, allowing for a two-hour commute between the 200-feet Bypass Crossing and Ajmer.
“These projects were initiated two years ago, with construction commencing in January 2023. However, temporary halts in construction occurred due to traffic congestions, delaying the completion,” explained another NHAI official.
Looking ahead, NHAI plans to initiate construction of another flyover at Bhankrota crossing. “In the interim, we will begin constructing cloverleafs at Mahapura to facilitate traffic entry and exit onto the southern Ring Road from this expressway,” the official elaborated. /BI
