Officers of 2020 batch of Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS) get postings

New Delhi: The 2020 batch of Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS) officers appointed through the Civil Services Examination 2020 have been posted to field offices of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, according to a latest notification from the Ministry. 

As many as ten officers of this batch were posted through this official notification. Prince Kumar, previously Assistant Director (Under Training) at the ICLS Academy in Manesar, has now been appointed as Assistant Registrar of Companies at the Office of the Registrar of Companies in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, while Nikita Yadav  will join as Assistant Official Liquidator at the Office of the Official Liquidator in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Mansi Rajiv Gokhale has been posted as Assistant Registrar of Companies at the Office of the Registrar of Companies in Delhi, with an additional charge of the E.Gov Cell, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. 

Patil Lokesh Manohar will now serve as Assistant Official Liquidator at the Office of the Official Liquidator in Bengaluru, Karnataka.Altap Mahammad Shaikh has been appointed as Assistant Director at the Office of the Regional Director in Mumbai. Krishna Kumar S takes on the role of Assistant Registrar of Companies at the Office of the Registrar of Companies in Bengaluru. Sayali Ashok Gaikwad has been appointed as Assistant Registrar of Companies at the Office of the Registrar of Companies in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Deowrat Vasantrao Meshram is assigned as Assistant Official Liquidator at the Office of the Official Liquidator in Hyderabad, Telangana. Bayyapureddy Chaitanya and Dr. Devarwade Kishorkumar Ashokrao have been posted as  Assistant Director at the Office of the Regional Director (NR) in New Delhi.

Created in 1967 as a service to administer the Companies Act 1956 as the Company Law Service, it was renamed as Indian Company Law Service in 2002. The change in name was effected with a view to meet the challenges of the growing Indian Industry. The service functioned under Department of Company Affairs in Ministry of Finance till 2004, after which an independent ministry by the name Ministry of Corporate Affairs was carved out to administer the Corporate Sector in India. It was christened as Indian Corporate Law Service in 2008 and was brought into the fold of Civil Services Examination and the first batch of Officers thus recruited were inducted in 2009.The decision to bring the service ICLS into the fold of civil services was instrumental for regulating the complex corporate landscape which is getting evolved day by day. Since 2016, Director General of Corporate Affairs (DGCoA) is the top most bureaucrat from ICLS who is equivalent to the post of Secretary to the Union of India. /BI/
