New Delhi: The 'Land of the Rising Sun' Arunachal Pradesh is blessed with unique flora, fauna and indigenous culture. The children and youth of the state are blessed with talent and energy which fire their quest to excel in different fields.

In Changlang district, the institution, New Age Learning Centre (NALC), is promoting learning among youth and children. and it became the attraction of probationer IAS officers during their Bharat Darshan programme.

Bharat Darshan, also called the eight-week study tour, is a programme for probationer IAS officers of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), who travel the length and breadth of India to learn more about the country's diverse culture and tradition, and unique institutions. They also get a first-hand glimpse of the problems faced by people.

The NALC is the brainchild of Miao District Collector Sunny K Singh, IAS. The learning centre has all genres of books and e-books, besides smart screens and tablets. It has futuristic design, with comfortable space and air conditioning.

Singh said that the visit of the probationer IAS officer was a 'Lucky Day for Miao', as they interacted with NALC members and also the children and youth.

He said the idea of the NALC has been to provide an attractive alternative to youth who found traditional libraries as boring, cliched and outdated. The NALC, by incorporating futuristic design based on Aspirations of youth has been relevant with the present and eye on the future.

The NALC also enables children and youth from economically weaker sections, who do not have comfortable reading space in their homes to come and study the books of their choice as well as enjoy the comfort and smart features. /BI/
