Praggnanandhaa, a shy 18-year-old boy from Chennai, has managed to etch his name in the annals of Indian chess history, showcasing his prowess on the global stage.

The young Indian sensation had already captured the hearts of fans worldwide by consistently defeating higher-ranked opponents. His journey to the final was marked by victories against some of the best in the chess world, including a triumph over World No. 2 Hikaru Nakamura and World No. 3 Fabiano Caruana in grueling tie-breakers. He acknowledged Praggnanandhaa's exceptional skills and his ability to give Magnus Carlsen a tough fight in the finals.
