SDRF team leads rescue operation

Chandigarh: In the wake of heavy rains leading to flood-like situation in the rivers and plains of Yamuna and its tributaries, several districts including Ambala, Yamunanagar, and Karnal in Haryana have been severely affected. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Director General of Police (DGP), Haryana, PK Agrawal has directed the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) of IRB Haryana Police to take charge of the rescue operations in these districts.
A dedicated team comprising 74 police personnel, specially trained in flood rescue operations, has been deployed to handle the rescue efforts. In accordance with the DGP's directives, two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSsP) and one inspector have been appointed in each of the affected districts to coordinate and lead the rescue operations.
The SDRF teams have been working tirelessly, and their swift response has resulted in the successful rescue of approximately 800 individuals from the flooded areas. These rescued individuals have been safely relocated to secure locations, ensuring their well-being during this challenging time.
The Haryana Police, in collaboration with other concerned authorities and stakeholders, remains committed to addressing the current challenging situation and providing necessary support to the affected ones. The situation is being closely monitored, and additional measures are being taken as required to ensure the safety and welfare of the people in the affected regions. /BI/
