New Delhi: The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy constituted a three-member Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) to resolve issues related to the sector. An order in this regard was issued on January 1, 2024.

The committee comprises three retired bureaucrats - MF Farooqui, Rajesh Bhushan and Kumar Alok. Earlier on June 7, 2023, a Dispute Resolution Mechanism (DRM) was set up. The DRM aims to address unforeseen disputes between Renewable Energy (RE) Power Developers, EPC Contractors, and designated Renewable Energy Implementing Agencies (REIA) such as SECI, NTPC, NHPC and SJVN.

The committee members, with their rich administrative backgrounds, will play a crucial role in mediating conflicts and ensuring the smooth execution of renewable energy projects.
